Party outfit “à la Parisienne”

party outfit à la parisienne 2
Bonjour my lovely readers! As the end of the year is approaching I guess many of you are starting to think about your party outfits: whether it is for a family dinner, a corporate party or a gathering at your friend’s apartment.  For this season, I wanted to show you an outfit that I am probably going to wear next week at our firm party. Choosing the right outfit is always difficult but when it comes to party outfit it can become really challenging.

Party outfit: the Parisian way to do it

Here in Paris, you never want to look too overdressed, like you tried too hard. So forget about long evening gowns or cocktail dresses. We would much rather wear our favorite pair of jeans with high heels than be caught dead wearing something like a glittery dress! The typical Parisian will always try to look effortless, although we all know she spent hours trying to make her hair look messy AND chic!

As for me, I am a bit in between. I don’t like to be overdressed in a sea of jeans and white t-shirts: SO NOT COOL! However, I do like a little bling here and there. With the outfit I am presenting today I tried to find the perfect balance between Parisian cool and my love for shiny things!

Do you remember my article about the fringe skirts? Well last summer I finally found one at Zara. This one is in Suede with perfect fringes that almost arrive at my ankles. To dress it down a little I am wearing a black turtleneck, which could be replaced by a little black t-shirt.

To add a pop of color to this all black outfit, I am wearing Ted Baker pumps that I simply ADORE! They are printed with hot pink flowers and are embellished with a beautiful piece of jewelry at the tip of the shoe. As for the accessories, I tried to keep it simple with a cuff bracelet and a black and gold clutch. For hair and makeup, it is quite simple too. I just added some red lipstick to finish the look!

How about you guys? What is your policy when it comes to party outfits? Have you started to think about what you’re going to wear? I would love to hear from you!

Bisous Bisous
